Term 1 Week 2

Year 6 started their week with a ‘Sensational Start’ for our new learning theme ‘The Enchanted East’.  Pupils will be learning about China and Japan with a focus on geographical skills.  On Monday, we completed some fun activities to begin our learning.  We looked at manga cartoon design that originated in Japan and designed our own cartoon.  We also made origami frogs and Chinese lanterns.  Pupils also had great fun taking part in a quizzes about China and Japan.  It was a great start to our theme learning!

Goodbye from Bryn-y-Moel

With sleepy heads, 6SM have packed, had breakfast and walked down the hill for the final time. Everyone is very excited to be going home to see their families! They have all had a fantastic week- Lots of memories have been made!

All on time! Coach is loaded and we are nearly ready to leave. See you soon!

Power Pack take the plunge!

PP’s final activity of the week was gorge walking – the gorge was water was chilly and fast flowing and everyone gathered their courage and had a fantastic time. Special mention for Karis who showed excellent determination and courage to have a go and succeed. Great work PP!

Kayaking, BBQ & beach!

McNair’s Minions had a great afternoon kayaking. We used our paddling skills to navigate the water, going forwards and backwards and turning left and right. We played games and completed challenges.

We all then enjoyed a BBQ with all of Year 6 together for our final evening. Burgers, sausages and plenty of salad!

An evening at the beach was our final activity. Paddling and splashing in the sea, games, drawing in the sand and a camp fire with marshmallows and smores. A superb end to a super week!

Fun on the beach

The rain stayed away and we made it to the beach for a fabulous finish to our week.

We collected fire Wood along the walk to the beach and built a fire to keep us warm after paddle and splash session.
